Nothing could be nearer and dearer to my heart when it comes to public office than protecting the citizens we are honoured to represent. I consider it an honour because I have spent my professional career serving the public. For 31 years I wore the uniform with pride, starting as a Constable with the Camrose Police Department and retiring as Chief, a position I held for nearly a decade. Our community here in Chestermere has grown by leaps and bounds. While we have some challenges facing our city, we also deal with crime that comes to us from Calgary.
Effective policing isn’t always about hiring more officers. It’s about working with our local detachment to carefully analyze where crime is occurring and then helping to deploy the appropriate resources to protect our families.
Public safety is top of mind as I walk about the community and I have access to the resources and insight we need to help create a safe and engaged community. I’ve done it before, we can do it again.
